NIXA LIVE STUDENT PRODUCTION
Year-Long Course- 355 (Repeatable)

Grade Level: 9-12
This hands-on course trains students in the production of LIVE SPORTS, SCHOOL
EVENTS, & ACTIVITIES across the academic year, including events like Football,
Volleyball, Soccer, Softball, Basketball, Wrestling, Baseball, and more. Students will work
as a team to produce professional live broadcasts viewed by thousands online, using tools
such as graphics, cameras, video and photo editing, audio production, and remotecontrolled cameras.
Students will explore a variety of production roles, including director, producer, camera
operator, and on-air talent such as play-by-play announcers and sideline reporters. They
will promote broadcasts on social media, collaborate with sponsors to meet expectations,
and create video profiles and enterprise stories. Students will also study the history and
trends in sports broadcasting and media partnerships.
This course emphasizes real-world learning through hands-on experience at live events.
Students are required to attend after-school activities and may travel to away games. By
mastering teamwork and communication, students will develop the skills needed for
careers in broadcasting, media, and event production.
